High School Graduates of 2020: The Parish will be sending out an informational form that will ask a few questions regarding family, some favorites and future plans to each of our Graduates. We also will request a baby picture and senior/grad picture that will then be shared one student at a time on Facebook. The forms can be turned in at the Parish Hall where we will have an area for the Graduates to take a picture as well as a gift bag of goodies waiting for you. Further details regarding dates will be sent with the forms to the Graduates. This is a wonderful way that we can come together as a Parish and pray for our youth as they enter into adulthood. The power of Prayer is amazing and will help boost these youth with the breath of the Holy Spirit as they begin to discern the path they will travel.

A Prayer of Parents for Their Children:

Almighty God, You have called us to the holy state of Matrimony and have shared with us Your gift of creation. We thank You for making our love fruitful. May we be worthy representatives of You, dear Lord, in forming our children in Your knowledge and love. You have given us children, Almightly God, to teach in Your ways to which will lead to their eternal home of heaven. May our children ever walk in the ways of Your commandments and live according to the teachings of Your holy Catholic Church. May our example, dear God, be such as to inspire our children to grow into the likeness of Your Son, Jesus Christ. May we be firm but kind in discipline. May we stand as one united in authority so as to be consistant. May we never confuse permissiveness with love. May we teach our children respect for Your authority in ourselves and in all Your representatives upon earth. May our home be as a Church, for You, Lord Jesus Christ, are present whenever two or three are gathered together in Your Name. May praises of God frequently rise from the lips and hearts of our family and may we all one day be united in our eternal home. Amen

A Child's Prayer for Parents:

Heavenly Father, I thank You for
My father and mother, and for our home.
Bless us all, and help us to love You:
And in love to serve one another as Jesus
Taught us to do. Give me strength to do
What is right today, and to do unto others
As I would want them to do unto me. Amen

A Prayer for Families
For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that he may grant you in accord with the riches of his glory to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in the inner self, and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the holy ones what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to accomplish far more than all we ask or imagine, by the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

In response to the current realities, we'll be featuring a "This Week in Youth Ministry" initiative for the youth in the diocese. In short, it will be a series of four invitations to our young people each week. Here's the summary: Weekly Discussion - each week the youth are invited to join in a discussion on a topic in an online forum. The discussion will be moderated and guided by myself and several priests from around the diocese. These discussions are online and ongoing throughout the week. Weekly Prayer Event - Each week we'll be hosting a prayer event online. It will mostly likely be every Friday afternoon and will be livestreamed on YouTube and Facebook. While it's geared towards youth, please feel free to share with others as well. Weekly Prayer Challenge - The youth will be invited each week to a certain prayer challenge that can be done on their own. Weekly Challenge to Charity - The youth will be given a specific challenge and work of mercy. These will be focused on the most vulnerable. We've designed this initiative to be flexible to the needs, interests, and time of many and we pray it's a fruitful supplement to the efforts of you and your parish families.

The primary way we'll be sending the details of this out will be through our Youth Events Email Newsletter, so be sure you are signed up for that.

What Is Going Deeper?

Going deeper is a retreat for youth who are actively involved in their parish or have participated in other retreats and events and who have a fervor to grow in the faith. The hope is that participants will experience a much deeper understanding of how to pray and how to know what God is desiring in their life. Further, participants will discover the beauty and practice of God’s heart speaking to yours each and every day. We will be spending time in silence and prayer and will have the opportunity to receive the Sacraments.

This is not a Confirmation Retreat.
