July News

4th of July Mass at 8am only. There will be no Eucharistic Adoration.

CFSA  Dollars above parish goal will be used for buildings and grounds improvements for our parish.  Currently only 356 CFSA pledge cards have been returned.  If you are one of the 600 households that have not returned your card please do so as soon as possible, if only to state you are a registered member at Immaculate Conception.  The diocesan staff will conduct follow-up phone calls beginning in September.  Contact the parish office with any questions.

Meals on Wheels are delivered to homebound throughout Watertown, and Immaculate Conception participates in this ministry on a rotating basis.  Once every six weeks we are called on to provide shuttle service for meals.  It takes approximately 30 minutes a day for one week.  The rewards of getting to know, and sharing fellowship with, those in our community who may not be able to get out anymore are priceless.  If you would like to share in this ministry please call the parish office.

Summertime can be a time in which we try to slow down and spend quality time with family and friends. Make a conscious effort this month to talk with someone about what God is doing in your life these days. We never want to be so busy with activities that we miss the presence of our Lord in our daily lives. You might consider reading the Holy Fathers exhortation on holiness as a family, a couple or with a friend over this month and discover a richness to our faith. The exhortation is called Gaudete et exsultate and can be found on Amazon

Scrip is a great way to continue to support our school and help keep the cost of educating our youth down. You simply purchase a card for your groceries, gas or other items at face value and then use them as you would a debit card. A percentage of the card is donated to the school and costs you nothing. You can also sign up for Amazon Smile and choose Immaculate Conception School as the recipient of a portion of your purchases. You simply use the smile.amazon.com page and the school benefits. Scrip is available after each mass in the church foyer, or during the week at the parish office.

Fr. Eckrich’s final weekend at Immaculate Conception is July 6 and 7. We thank him for growing in faith with us, and wish him well as he travels to Sioux Falls to further serve our Diocese. Hopefully you had a chance to say goodbye at one of the Masses or celebrations. If not, you can always drop him a card: Cathedral of St. Joseph, 521 N Duluth Ave. Sioux Falls 57104
