January 2020 Highlights

Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God is a Holy Day of Obligation and falls on January 1st.

We will have Mass at 4pm Tuesday, December 31st and 9am Wednesday, January 1st

Come, honor the Mother of God and our mother.

Faith and Real Life on January 8 will feature Jocelyn and Jared Zimprich, from our own parish.     Listen as they share their heart felt story how they know God is at work in their lives.

March 4 Life, the world’s largest annual human rights demonstration, will be held on January 24, 2020.  A group of youth and adults from Immaculate Conception till travel to Washington, DC to prayerfully and peacefully march for an end to legalized abortion in our Nation. For those here at home, you are encourage to fast and pray on this day for an end to abortion and that each one of us would have a greater sense of God’s love and mercy for life. Thank you to all who supported those heading to the march. May we never doubt the power of our prayers to change the minds and hearts of those in authority.

The Sacrament of Penance is one of the seven sacraments of the Catholic Church, in which the faithful are absolved from sins committed after Baptism and they are reconciled with the Christian community.  We have a group of Second Graders preparing to receive this Sacrament for the first time on January 29.  Pray that they seek to grace and love of Christ always.  If you have not received reconciliation in a while, perhaps this is a good time to consider it.

Catholic Schools Week this year is the last week of the month. The theme for this year is Living in Harmony with God’s Creation.  During this week our parishes and families focus on the value Catholic education provides to young people and its contributions to our church, our communities and our nation.   We see with the gift of our Catholic Faith as an opportunity to share our lives with others so that the world may come to know Christ in a more substantial way. Watch the bulletin for a complete schedule of activities and events connected to this week.

The New Year is once again upon on.  Everything about the future is uncertain, but one thing is for sure. God had already planned all our tomorrows, we just have to trust him today. We heartily wish a beautiful tomorrow for you and your family. Happy New Year 2020!
