Parish Events Calendar

September Highlights

Parish Offices are Closed on Monday September 2nd for Labor Day

Parish Fall Festival is set for Sunday September 8th, from 11am - 2pm. This event doesn’t happen without a lot of help on many levels. If you have never had the opportunity to lend a hand maybe this is the year for you. Call the Office to see how we can get you involved in this great event. Another great opportunities we have with an event like this is to invite a friend or maybe someone you don’t know all that well to join you for the meal. Often Christ invites us to reach out and invite someone new. There are many people in our parish who I think would love to come, but just don’t want to do it alone. Ask Christ to place on your heart a person or people whom He would like you to share a meal with. Imagine if the two on the road to Emmaus hadn’t asked the stranger to join them for a meal!  Imad from Israel will be here during the Fall Festival with original Olive Wood Carvings from the Holy Land.  His family relies on parishes like ours for their livelihood.  Please support Imad in any way that you can.

The Watertown Parishes Magazine has been a wonderful asset to our Watertown Catholic Community. This truly is YOUR magazine.  If you have ideas or suggestions, please do not hesitate to contact Jocelyn.  She is currently the content facilitator and can be reached at jzimprich@decidedexcellence.com.   This magazine is made possible through sponsorships and does not cost us as a parish to have it published. If you are interested in advertising let Jocelyn know that as well.

‘A Biblical Walk Through The Mass’ Study Opportunity:  All are welcome to join us throughout the month of September to participate in a 4 week study called ‘A Biblical Walk through the Mass’ by Dr. Edward Sri.  Explore the biblical roots of the words and gestures we experience at Mass and learn their profound significance. Gain a deeper understanding and experience new life from learning the ‘whys’ of what we say and do each week at Mass. Classes will be held on Mondays at 9am in the IC Parish Center Boardroom and again on Wednesdays at 6:30pm in the IC Church Hall.

Men and Women Group Opportunities:  There are a number of opportunities for men and women to come together to support each other in their God given vocation and to grow in faith.  Current women’s groups are held on Wednesdays at 8:45am and again on Thursdays at 6:30am; both are held in the IC Parish Center Boardroom.  Men’s groups are held on Wednesdays at 6:30pm in the Unity Hall and again on Fridays at 6am in the IC Parish Center Boardroom.  Groups read and discuss a variety of books and/ or weekly scripture passages.  All are welcome.  Contact the Adult Faith Formation office at 886-2772 for more information.

Scrip is a great way to continue to support our school and help keep the cost of educating our youth down. You simply purchase a card for your groceries, gas or other items at face value and then use them as you would a debit card. A percentage of the card is donated to the school and costs you nothing. You can also sign up for Amazon Smile and choose Immaculate Conception School as the recipient of a portion of your purchases. You simply use the smile.amazon.com page and the school benefits. Scrip is available after each mass in the church foyer, or during the week at the parish office.

An Autumn Prayer:  Abba, Father, the trees are ablaze with your glory. The seasons change, but you never do. You are always beautiful, in the green and freshness of spring as in the golds and reds and chills of autumn. Make me like you. Let my life reflect your beauty, season after season, as the calendar of my life turns and turns and turns. The trees are letting go of this year's foliage. Help me let go of both blessings and burdens, and surrender them both to your loving care.  Fallen leaves pattern the ground with variety. So design my own fallings and failings into whatever design will please you most. In Jesus' name, I pray, Amen
